About

C-Jory-Hile-9578.jpg

In community college, I had an inspiring psychology teacher. She was so open about her own struggles, teaching us through her own life lessons; she taught me how to live a better life, and inspired me to pass that on.

After community college, I received my Undergraduate degree in Ethnic Studies and Education from University of California Berkeley. I then attended Saint Mary’s College of California earning a graduate degree with emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling. In addition, I am a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst focusing on Applied Behavioral Analysis.

I come from a humble background and a family that struggled with untreated mental illness. This has enabled me to have empathy and the drive to learn more about and to support people in overcoming what holds them back. I like to talk about ‘big D’ and ‘little d’ depression, and how depression has such negative connotations that people are often afraid to admit they struggle with it. I will help you be comfortable enough to be open about your struggles, and to empower you to find ways to overcome them.

I can’t imagine a job that isn’t about helping people – I guess that makes me a people person ☺. But it also comes from my own desire to constantly grow and change. I like challenge and accomplishment. I am constantly searching for tools and better ways to be, and I love sharing those with others.

I have experience with:

  • Individuals

  • Couples

  • Families

  • Parents

  • Children with Special Needs

  • Blended Families

  • LGBTQ Couples and Families

  • Child, Teen, and Adult transitioning

Are you or a loved one struggling with addiction? Do you often find yourself in relationships that are codependent? Unsure what that means? If you struggle with low self-esteem, have difficulty making decisions in a relationship, difficulty identifying and communicating your emotions, and valuing the approval of others more than valuing yourself, you may be codependent.

I have a lot of experience with addiction, 12 step programs, and boundary setting to work with codependence.

All of my services are offered online. Unsure which is better for you — therapy or behavior coaching? Read my FAQ to learn more.

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am,

then I can change.
